The Real “Jewish Problem”
If you believe our news media, the biggest problem in the Middle East is Islamic religious extremism and intolerance. That is why so many of “those people” despise Israel: it is Jewish and not Islamic. Nonsense! Out of the mouth of fools comes the real reason. Ahminajedah stated his objection most clearly in an interview: “Why did the UN have to create a Jewish homeland in the Middle East. Why couldn't it be established in Europe – where Jews were persecuted. Gaddafi further commented on the fact that Muslims often sheltered Jews from Christian persecution in the Middle East during the Crusades.
The creation of Israel brought an influx of Jews from mostly European countries with European economic ties and European attitudes. For Muslims, Europeans have been nothing but trouble. The Crusades brought European mercenary soldiers who looted their treasures and destroyed many of their religious and civic monuments. Even as late as the early twentieth century their holy lands were ruled by the Ottoman Empire who had strong ties to Europe. During the first World War they allied with the British with the promise of autonomy – that was blithely broken when the British discovered oil. While that oil made petty sheiks very wealthy, this wealth only made most citizens lives miserable.
While Western Europe and the United States intervened in their politics to ensure a steady supply of oil, Israel brought in Europeans who displaced Palestinians on their land – effectively creating millions of disenfranchised people. Meanwhile we had a Cold War that involved the US and Soviet Union – both European – supplying military equipment to despots who further disenfranchised millions more citizenry. These armed despotic regimes found it very convenient to foment anti “Zionist” sentiments.
What we forget is that Jews throughout Europe were denied the opportunities of most people. They gravitated to management, arts, banking and jobs requiring a lot of education. They were the servants of the parasitic monied classes- but without the power and influence. As the face of big money they were easily the targets of resentment among people who felt exploited by these parasites. It is no wonder that Hitler exploited this resentment to gain political power – without antagonizing those with real power. IF the Jews wielded as much power as Hitler suggested, he would never have risen beyond the leadership of a minor party. And that is why moronic Jew bashing by Ahminejadeh resonate within the Arab world. They know what it is like to be scrod by big money – as the Germans did during the Great Depression.
The “solution” to the “Jewish problem” lies in mutual prosperity. Those involved in productive commerce with shared rewards don't fight. The problem with our “free market” economy is destructive competition. Instead of competing in innovation and efficiency to create a better economy, today's competition strives to eliminate competition using governmental influence. I call it Socialism. But those in the media refuse to acknowledge that tossing crumbs to the poor is NOT the only thing socialistic about our economy.
Smaller government is the answer. Government should be about facilitation of commerce and ensuring justice and personal responsibility to punish criminal behavior. Theft of billions should be punished at least as much as theft of hundreds. In our society it isn't.
